This berry bowl is the perfect addition to any kitchen. I truly use it every day for rinsing berries and vegetables. It also comes in handy as a quick strainer for bean or any other canned food you add to your cooking.

I handmade and paint each bowl so please understand there may be slight difference then the photos.
Stoneware clay
Clear food safe glaze
I get a lot of questions about the process of making clay into a finished piece so I thought I’d take you all to the studio with me to show you how I make the Berry Bowl.
Day 1
Everything starts with a hunk of clay, which I then wedge and roll out into a slab. The slab get pressed over a slump mold to give it the concave shape.
A couple hours later the clay will release from the mold and I’ll slip and score the handles on.
Day 2
I carve the drainage holes into the clay once it is leather hard.
I let the piece dry for about 2 weeks till it is consider bone dry. Then using underglaze I paint the berry design on each bowl. After this they go into a 2 day long bisque firing.
Once cool I glaze each piece in a food safe clear glaze and they go back in the kiln for another 2 day firing.
Viola a handmade strawberry bowl perfect for rinsing and serving!
